Michael Coronado was born in Miami, Florida. An Intel Scholar, Mr. Coronado obtained a Bachelors of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He was chosen as a Carnegie Mellon Emerging Leader and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Prior to attending Carnegie Mellon, he attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, where he was a distinguished member of Key Club. As a member of Key Club, he helped organize Blood Drives and also developed several computer programs for the school bookstore and the used book sale, the Key Club's largest fund raising event. Today, Mr. Coronado is an active member of Kiwanis.

In 1994, Mr. Coronado began his first startup, Coro Comp, a computer reseller and exporter. He later developed Accountant's Check List™, a time and billing program for accountants. While at Carnegie Mellon, he worked with Carnegie Technology Education, a subsidiary of the University. Additionally, he had the opportunity to work for Intel in Folsom, California supporting 3rd party motherboard designs.

While working with Miami-Dade County's E-Government department, he assisted in the development of a countywide 3-1-1 center. This massive project brought together the heterogeneous systems of all 64 departments into one integrated system. The main objective of cost savings was achieved through centralization of all call center operations into one state-of-the-art center with a comprehensive set of online services, and standardization of all county applications.
